Mold remediation done to state standards

Mold remediation is regulated work, and for good reason. The company has to be licensed and the people doing the work have to be certified. We are, and they are — across eastern New York, western Massachusetts and southern Vermont.

The rules exist for a reason

Mold work is licensed, regulated work, and the requirements vary by state. In New York, a business performing mold remediation has to hold a state Mold Remediation Contractor license, the people on site have to be certified Mold Supervisors or Mold Abatement Workers, and on most jobs the company assessing the mold cannot be the company remediating it. We hold that license, our supervisors and workers carry those certifications, and our technicians are IICRC-certified in applied microbial remediation.

Wherever we work — New York, Massachusetts or Vermont — the job itself is done to the same standard: containment, negative air, controlled removal, HEPA cleaning and independent verification. We work alongside independent local mold assessors as a matter of practice, not only where a statute requires it, so your remediation is signed off by someone with no stake in the outcome. That protects you, and it’s what a lender, buyer or insurer will want to see.

How we approach a mold job

  1. Find the water. Mold is a symptom. If the moisture source isn’t fixed, it comes back.
  2. Contain. Sealed containment and negative air pressure so spores don’t travel to clean parts of the building.
  3. Remove. Affected porous materials out under controlled conditions; salvageable surfaces cleaned by hand.
  4. HEPA and treat. HEPA vacuuming, air scrubbing, and antimicrobial application.
  5. Verify. Post-remediation assessment by the independent assessor, then clearance in writing.

Signs worth a phone call

  • A musty smell in a basement, crawlspace or closet that never quite goes away
  • Visible growth on drywall, framing, ceiling tile or behind vinyl wallpaper
  • Water damage that sat for more than a couple of days before drying
  • Recurring condensation, or humidity that stays high through the summer

Why property owners call us

  • You get a person, not a call center. Our phones are answered live, 24 hours a day, by people who live and work in this region.
  • Certified crews. IICRC-certified technicians, plus New York State certification for mold work.
  • We handle the insurance side. Documentation, photos, moisture logs and estimates go straight to your adjuster in the format they expect.
  • Local and family-owned. 25+ years in the Capital Region — not a franchise passing your job to a subcontractor.

Not sure whether it’s worth a call? It is. Estimates are free, we’ll tell you honestly if you don’t need us, and the cost of waiting is almost always higher than the cost of finding out. 518-766-9595

Don’t wait for it to dry on its own

Water spreads. Soot sets. Mold can follow.

Call now and talk to a real person — not an answering service in another state. We’ll tell you what to do next, and get a crew moving.
